PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv is a renowned Bulgarian professional football club based in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Founded in 1926, the team has undergone several name changes throughout its history, with “Lokomotiv” being one of them.
Establishment and Early Years
The club was initially known as “Balkanski Sokol” but changed its name to “Lokomotiv” in 1927. In the early years, the team played under various names due to sponsorship reasons or for other reasons. Lokomotiv’s first major success came in 1977 when they won their only Bulgarian National Cup
